flower power

as you know, statement earrings have been having a big moment of late, and rebecca de ravenel’s bon bon earrings were last year’s star of the show. for spring 2K18, supersized is still hotter than ever, but taking a more organic silhouette- meet the statement flower.

lucky for us, the chicas (and chicos) at zara are on top of it, with their own $20 version for a similar look (there is also an exact dupe on etsy here). i plan to double up 2x the flower power, with a breezy floral dress, straw bag and textured slides.

1– topshop (similar to this one i wore)

2– sam edelman

3– aranaz sierra

4– johanna ortiz

5– loeffler randall

6– mar y sol

shop willow

With rapidly rising temps, I’ve been busy planning a season of beach vacations, pool side afternoons and three day weekends to escape the heat. However, I have yet to adequately prepare my vacation wardrobe to match these sunny locales. As is usually the case, I realize I’m in need of a cover up or straw hat the night before I leave (or worse- at the actual destination!) The remedy to this problem? Stocking up at Willow.

Willow is the recently launched brain child of a close friend, Catherine Anne Lowden. Willow sources the best caftans, OTS tops, beach bags, swimsuits and easy breezy resort wear from different artisans around the world and curates an easily shopable selection online. as an added perk, her limited quantity items ensure no one will ever have the same items as you.

As the girl in our Hampton’s house of twelve with the most enviable summer wardrobe, on and off the beach, we can all attest she knows her stuff. Last week I got the chance to visit her adorable office in Greenwich and snap a few behind the scenes pics…

a sampling of colorful clutches (i needed them all!)

going nude

after 4 months of winter i am chomping at the bit to pack up my puffy coats and sweaters. so far we’ve had a few teasing days of temperatures in the 50 and 60s, and now i simply can’t bring myself to put on another pair of black tights. the current rainy drizzle outside is hindering me for now, but i can’t wait for the days of bare legs again- it makes getting ready in the morning SO much easier. the perfect spring work outfit? a bright shift dress, nude heels and a light trench or jacket. the best part? skin colored heels give you legs for daysssszzzz. check out the inspo below…

below are a roundup of my favorite new picks…. aren’t those bow mules are to dieeee for?! especially if they turn my legs into Alessandra’s. yes, please.

1 jimmy choo

2 chloe

3 l.k. bennett

4 nine west

5 dolce vita

6 gianvito rossi

7 gap

8 stuart weitzman

9 sam edelman

beauty tip: how to get those gams ready to see the world after months under wraps? a good exfoliating scrub (loveee all things lush), one of these and a bottle of yummy smelling shave cream, a few tan towels or a classic bottle of jergens (excited to try the new in shower formula), plus my favorite post bath moisturizing cream and a light body oil to get that dewy look.

to boot

meet this season’s version of the statement coat– boots and booties of all shapes and embellishments. they’re lighting up runways and fashion week photos errrywhere because they’re pretty much the perfect thing to jazz up your old jeans and a chunky sweater, while giving your stan smiths a much needed break. i know 95% of my readers may be scared of some of the picks below, but i promise you can dip a toe into the trend in a subtler way. some of my favorites are below…

#1 MSGM. debating maxing out my credit card for these lovely floral babies. hoping shopbop will hold their f&f sale before it gets to that point!

#2 nasty gal. metallic + geometric makes the perfect match. this pair could also do double duty with a silk top and midi skirt for an evening on the town.

#3 rebecca minkoff. these velvet babies are subtler than some of the other pairs, but sadly sold out in most sizes. you can bet this cp is already signed up for the waitlist.

#4 valentino. let the stars be your guide in an out-of-this-world jeweled pair

#5 faith boston. marble heels? yes puh-lease.

#6 saint laurent. rockstar worthy silver stars get brought back to earth by a stretchy side and shockingly wearable heel

#7 target. snakeskin wonders that look just like the ones featured in photo 4, for under $35

#8 sam edelman. floral brocade with a slightly far east vibe. also try a pink candela pair from anthropologie.
