sweet stripes

Forget Easter Eggs & peeps, i’d rather put the pastels on my feet– in the form of some candy colored stripes! Pair with a basic white dress or some cropped wide leg culottes for an easy Sunday look.

toasting spring’s arrival

this weekend we rang in the arrival of warm weather at the engagement party of a childhood friend. i was not only very excited for the happy couple (EMB y’all are precious together) but also for the chance to debut my first warm weather frock of the season. what i wore…

Nicholas maxi dress

2 nancy gonzalez clutch (i carried a vintage suede clutch similar to this)

3 givenchy abstract pearl ring

4 nude slides from forever21 (old, similar option here)

Nicholas is currently one of my go-to brands for special events, their prints and embellishments make show-stopping party dresses. since i don’t love the $600+ price tags that usually accompany them, i’ve been lucky to find several available on rent the runway or at end of season sales on shopbop (you can see me in another Nicholas back at Christmas here) .

this one was absolutely gorgeous, super comfortable and slightly sheer at the bottom. this picture turned out super blurry but you get the gist…

check out some of my other favorite nicholas styles (including a few available rentals)– very similar printed maxi, this blue stunner perfect for playing wedding guest, a bold polka dot pantsuit, a punchy strapless number, a gorgineee tiered lace dress and their ever flattering plunging V-neck LBD. you can also see all the Nicholas styles RTR has to offer here.

cheers to spring CPs– we made it!!

going nude

after 4 months of winter i am chomping at the bit to pack up my puffy coats and sweaters. so far we’ve had a few teasing days of temperatures in the 50 and 60s, and now i simply can’t bring myself to put on another pair of black tights. the current rainy drizzle outside is hindering me for now, but i can’t wait for the days of bare legs again- it makes getting ready in the morning SO much easier. the perfect spring work outfit? a bright shift dress, nude heels and a light trench or jacket. the best part? skin colored heels give you legs for daysssszzzz. check out the inspo below…

below are a roundup of my favorite new picks…. aren’t those bow mules are to dieeee for?! especially if they turn my legs into Alessandra’s. yes, please.

1 jimmy choo

2 chloe

3 l.k. bennett

4 nine west

5 dolce vita

6 gianvito rossi

7 gap

8 stuart weitzman

9 sam edelman

beauty tip: how to get those gams ready to see the world after months under wraps? a good exfoliating scrub (loveee all things lush), one of these and a bottle of yummy smelling shave cream, a few tan towels or a classic bottle of jergens (excited to try the new in shower formula), plus my favorite post bath moisturizing cream and a light body oil to get that dewy look.

5 under $50

some chic steals and deals to get you through your week– 5 of my current favorites, all under $50

#1 zara fleece jacketone of my best purchases this fall, half coat/half sweater, this blanket style feels soft as a bathrobe but is tailored enough to wear to work. see me debuting it on insta here.

zara-coat

#2 beaded tassels. ladies in love with the oscar de la renta tassels, look no further. this etsy shop has jaw dropping identical options all for $49

tassels

#3 h&m biker jeans – pair with a cozy sweatshirt, beanie and sneaks for a perfect errand running outfit.

hm-pants

#4 western belt – as many of us know, the model/trendy fashionista clan has been rocking western style belts for some time. while i am a little skeptical on how long this fad will stick around, at $6 you can test drive it for yourself and say goodbye when its on to the next thing.

belt

#5 twist-front teewhile technically it rings in slightly above $50, if you sign up for the club monaco email program you can get it for $50.15 (does anyone else think of isla fisher in bachelorette when you hear club monaco? if you havent seen this movie, just do it). my friends know i am notoriously cheap for buying tees— my go to’s are always scoop neck t-shirts from h&m, Target turtlenecks and long sleeved jersey ones from the cynthia rowley for TJmaxx line. seriously, i never pay more than $30– because i end up throwing them away after a season or two and buying all new. however, the detail on this one makes it worth the extra dough and i made the mistake of trying it on at the store– lit-er-a-lly-yyyy the softest. sold.

tshirt

***honorable mention to these amazing dv for Target mule boots ringing in for only $27!!! you, my bootie friends, didn’t get featured in the top 5 because you arent available online and/or in stores anywhere in my size. grrrrr. so i didnt want you gals to feel the sadness/anger/disappointment flooding my emotions when i see them. target reps— call me, i want them. their parent brand dolce vita has them online here at a much higher price. nnneeeew thank you.
