after last weekend’s booze-filled debauchery (S- late night gus burgers were NOT in the itinerary),  i was actually somewhat relieved to come home and get back to normal adult life (whoa- when did this happen?!) returning to work and attempting to get my butt in gear, at home as well as in the office, has made me crave some refined, ladylike sophistication. while overhauling my behavior is in the cards, I think purchasing some timeless staples might help motivate me to get there.  dressing the part is half the battle- right chic peas?! here are a few things that might class me up a bit in the coming weeks:

jackie o shift dress

#1 a lady-like dress- cream, lace and a collar make this the perfect frock for church or lunch- or anywhere else a classy lady would need to go. don’t worry, the length is much better in person- the amazonian model makes it look a little hoochie.

#2 a nude pump– their leg lengthening and go-with-everything abilities makes these the perfect spring shoes (in my hunt for comfortable nude heels i also tried on this jimmy choo pair and loved the almond toe)

#3 big girl investment bag – bonus season is upon me and i fully plan to take advantage by adding a serious piece of cow hide to my handbag collection. options include this top-handled prada and an always timeless 2.55 bag

#4 a structured sweater- a good cardigan is a no-brainer for work, but lately ive been loving some of the more structured styles. H wore this ribbed banana republic one to the office yesterday and i fell in love. I’m also lusting after a frayed joie style

#5  a dainty bracelet- what could be more ladylike than a dangly linked bracelet hanging from your wrist? im a huge fan of julie vos jewelry and have been wanting this bali bracelet for years. Screen shot 2014-05-03 at 11.21.12 AM
