emerald city

After I saw Rachel Parcell (of the Pink Peonies) rocking a emerald hued sweater as part of her Thanksgiving ensemble, I was smitten. It is the perfect non-neutral for the coming season: an interesting and unexpected nod to the Holidays, without the harshness of bright red. It’s the tres chic option for your next Christmas fete.

I snagged this jersey Nicole Miller number at a black Friday sale for $70 and can’t wear it to everything in the coming weeks. This picture doesn’t do it justice; it’s an ideal mix of casual material and expensive draping for an LBD alternative. Another festive option to dress up or down is the Parker CeCe dress, perfect for occasions now and tights free next spring.

In casual land, I can see myself rocking this piped blouse or these coated James jeans.

Finally, to piggy back off my last post, if you can’t commit to the emerald trend full on, dip a toe in with these gem colored tootsies. Or add some sparkling emerald gems, like this statement necklace, or earrings like these¬†and these.
